Me vs Me

I shall tell you all a story here, folks!

It is about two guys better described as just-another-regular-mediocre-blokes-next-door. Let us call them Ork and Orky.

One fine day, Orky sat down writing his much-awaited post for his age-old inactive blog. He wanted to make it special and spent a lot of time thinking about it, not only because it was his first post ever, but also because he had nothing else to do.

“Aah, boredom! Thou art a heartless bitch! What not thou maketh a man doest!”, were his exact thoughts. But what should he write about? Clueless as he was, suddenly an idea crossed his mind. He decided to seek several ways to kill his boredom, and later probably, after he finished writing them down, could follow through one of those very ideas of his own. You know, kill-two-birds sort of a thing!

Genius!”, he said to himself. But his brilliance ended there. No ideas hereafter. Sitting in the same room as him, Ork had been getting quite impatient all this time watching him struggle. “What a dumb fellow!” he uttered. While that poor guy kept scratching his head, Ork left the room, mostly because he, himself, had started getting bored observing Orky getting bored. Ork knew of better things to do than just to sit, think and write about how to make his life less monotonous. Did he?

Anyway, afterwards Ork took a bath, hogged over a meal, watched a couple of episodes of Scrubs season 4 and went out for a coffee with a friend at CCD. He returned after roaming about in half the city, on his bike. Our other regular-bloke Orky, whom he had conveniently abandoned sometime back, was still stuck upon his original thought. Atleast so it seemed to Ork.

Ork tried to peep into the sheet Orky was writing in just to know how far he got. A shocker! He had managed to jot down a number of ideas scribbled all over the sheet. As soon as Orky noticed him reading his million-dollar babies, he shoved Ork away threatening to hit him hard in the groins if the sinful act was repeated. Frightened Ork left him all by himself but couldn’t stop thinking about some of the stuff he had managed to read on that sheet.

What was on the list?! Wait until the next post for that. But here is a question: Who spent the time more wisely?

1. Ork, who did pretty regular stuff and might end up doing the same thing all over again the next day

or

2. Orky, the guy who ‘wasted’ a bit of his time on thinking what to do and could actually implement one of his ideas towards a vacation well spent?

P.S.: Apologies if you found this post a bit long. Call it thoughtful, sensible nonsense or hardcore nonsensical, I do not care because: Hurray! I am out with my first post! \m/

really nice post! the hard thinking behind it pretty evident.. \m/
but the last question is written with a biased intent. apparently, you want the reader to like Orky (which is you, i think) more.

will move on to the above post now..

@KayGee: Thanks dude! Moreover, I did not intend to be biased. Infact, someone commented that the real me was an exact average of the two blokes. I kinda agree too!
